But first you've got to raise your standards. I know at some point you had big dreams. You felt and believed that you were going to change the world in some significant way. Make things better, safer for our kids. Something. You knew deep down that you had a special gift that no one else has. You know what, come a little closer I want to make sure you hear this- -You did have a special gift. And... you still do! The gift that you were so sure you had didnâ?t leave you, you left it. Oh, I know the drill. Your goals and dreams have taken a back seat to trying to scratch out a living. Theyâ?ve become buried in the daily struggles and frustrations of life. So much so that now you donâ?t even think much about achieving your goals and living your dreams. Itâ?s all you can do to get to the end of the week. Life has become nothing more than a struggle for survival to the next crisis. Well kids Iâ?m here to tell you, thereâ?s more to Life than just surviving it. If youâ?re not either currently living your dreams or feel absolutely certain about the path youâ?re on leading to the achievement of your goals and dreams hereâ?s why. Donâ?t take this personally, or do take it personally, either way what it boils down to is your standards for what you EXPECT are too low. One of lifeâ?s truisms is that we absolutely get what we expect to get. Set your personal standards on average and thatâ?s exactly what you, everyone, and everything around you will be. On the other hand (and yes, the choice is yours) be the kind of person who insists on above average EVERYTHING and youâ?ll find yourself living in an above average environment. Oh and that gift that you left somewhere back there? Itâ?s still right there waiting for you to pick it up. But first you gottaâ?" Raise your standards. Thanks for stopping in. Live some. Love some. Business Management Are You Controlling or Loving Yourself? How often do you hear a parental voice in your head that says things like, "You've got to lose weight," or "You should get up earlier every morning and exercise," or "Today I should get caught up on the bills," or "I've got to get rid of this clutter." Let's explore what happens in response to this voice. Are You Addicted to Anger? Michael was raised in a home where anger was used to control. His parents used their anger to attempt to control each other as well as their children. Sometimes the anger erupted into violence and Michael and his siblings would get physically hurt. Michael never knew when one of his parents would suddenly become enraged, so the threat was always there. Who Do You Talk To? Many of you reading this will be running businesses, or parts of, whether they are your own or not. This means that you have many things to deal with on a day to day basis plus trying to do the long-term thinking needed to lead and run the business. You probably find yourself being very busy, possibly working long hours and, if you are honest, being reactive most of the time. When do you get (or make!) time to really think about your business or the way you are operating personally? (Working on the business rather than in it!) Among the dilemmas you face are; making time to tune out and relax, time think about the business, and finding time talk to about the issues and frustrations. Personal Power All of us would love to have personal power the power to manifest our dreams, the power to remain calm and loving in the face of fear, the power to stay centered in ourselves in the face of attack. Using Audio Programs to Increase Your Knowledge and Productivity If you do any significant amount of driving, a simple thing you can do to increase your productivity is to listen to audio programs in your car. If your commute time to work is 45 - 60 minutes each way, you can easily listen to at least 1 book each week. Over the course of a year, that can add up to about 50 books. That is a significant number. Greasing the Path to Success: Finding the Confidence to Step Up to Key Moments Whether it's making a prospecting call to a promising business contact, giving an informal "elevator speech" to a networking group, or attempting to close a transaction, there are certain key moments when putting your best-dressed foot forward really matters. Neither really wanted to end the marriage, yet both were miserable. The Value of Coaching to Support Your Business and Your Life In our daily lives as well as in our businesses, we typically operate from the perspective of doing the best we know how to do in dealing with life's challenges and opportunities. If we knew what it would take to be more effective in our relationships, more productive in our activities or more successful in reaching our goals, we would surely alter our behavior to correspond with these insights. The only access we ordinarily have to impact our lives comes from the areas of "what we know" and "what we don't know." In our efforts to achieve more, we usually resort to increasing what we do know by learning to do things a little better, a little different or we simply do more of a behavior that produced a certain result for us in the past. This behavior can predictably result in small, incremental increases in our ability to impact our business and our world. Likewise, by educating ourselves in the arena of "what we don't know," this knowledge then becomes part of what we now do know. As an example, if you are computer illiterate and you apply yourself to learn how to adeptly operate a computer, you will have successfully taken something that you do not know and converted it into what you now know. More than 95% of our efforts are spent in these two arenas what we know and what we don't know. Moment of Magic Laughter may or may not be a shock, relieved, but its' therapeutic effects are recognised in most cultures. It allows a positive distractive moment or moments. When things are tough, rough, overbearing or endless, a quick laugh can help to transcend an obsessive reality.
